Last night’s Board meeting mirrored the quality of work happening in our schools. That and more, next!

In recognition of Counseling month, I had the distinct pleasure of thanking our awesome counselors.

I hope you will join me in recognizing these folks for the amazing work they do each day for our students.

The Board honored outstanding students with lofty goals and teachers with true hearts for kids from Kaiser Elementary, Krahn Elementary, and Wunderlich Intermediate schools.

Four employees were recognized for promotions into new administrative roles and I look forward to great things from each of them.

Kevin Wiseman was honored by Board President Bill Pilkington as this month’s outstanding alumnus...

...and ExxonMobil, represented by Anita Taylor, received the Stand Up for Texas Public Schools award.

Congratulations to all of these fine folks.

The finance department was once again recognized with two certificates for achievement in financial reporting.

Kudos to our Finance team.

The board OK'd the district to begin a curriculum audit. More to come on that.

Finally, the Board approved the final local innovation plan so that we can move forward as a District of Innovation.

My personal thanks to the Local Innovation Plan Team and the District Instructional Development Council for their work on this important and exciting plan.

Please know that each of the plan’s goals will be collaboratively designed and will occur over time.

Hey, on February 20th, we are going to release possible versions of next year’s calendar and we'll be asking for feeback from all of our stakeholders...

...so we can reccommend a calendar to the board at the March meeting.
