The August Board meeting was last night, stay tuned for some of the highlights.

I love August! I could do without the heat, but I do love that it means that we get to start a brand new school year, one full of promise and purpose for every student.

So it was awesome that we started the meeting honoring our Career and Technical education students that competed over the summer and placed in the top three at the national level.

This is a tremendous accomplishment and we applaud these students for their dedication and relentless pursuit of excellence.

We also recognized some new administrative personnel who have already begun the school year.

These administrators were chosen because they are deeply committed to the promise and purpose of others and we look forward to their student focused contributions.

The Board honored Yousef Chaudhary as our alumni of the month. Honoring alumni that made a conscious decision to live and work in the Klein community is always a highlight of our meetings.

Finally, the Board added a member to the state Media Honor Roll in Julie Butterfield, General Manager of the Community Impact Newspaper Spring/Klein edition.

We applaud Julie for her thoughtful, consistent, and fair coverage of Klein ISD.

I want to close today by reminding all parents of current students that online registration is required by August 19 in order for students to be assigned a teacher or class.

The good news is there will be fewer forms to complete the first day of school.
