Erikson had stated eight stages of Psychosocial Development.

In the first stage, Trust v/s mistrust in childhood. Winning leads to trusting parents.

Autonomy v/s shame or doubt. The process of stabilizing their existence, questioning the world.

How they build their dominance, at the same time when they go wrong and people laugh at them, they cry.

Initiation v/s guilt. When children go to school for the first time, they try to do a thing on their own.

When they are unable to do so, they feel guilty about it. They solve the conflicts caused by it.

Industry v/s inferiority. They create their own circle. Whenever they win, they feel strong. When insulted they feel inferior.

Identity v/s Role confusion. They feel that they should have an identity as a teenager.

The question they face now is whether to listen to their friends or parents?

Should I adapt to a new culture or my tradition? or follow my values.

Intimacy v/s isolation. Having close friends, friends who are married, girlfriends or isolating themselves. Dealing with these conflicts,

They reach middle age. They look for their Generativity.

I should look after my family, build a home, have a child, earn money and fame.

Stagnation comes in. I am not getting things, I cannot do things anymore.

They fight this conflict and become an Older adult or reach the retiring age. They face Intrigrity v/s Despair,

They analyze their past doings. Am I connected to my family? Do my children respect me?

There is a conflict between these thoughts.
