Gujiya, Pedakiya, a karanji, or Kajjikayalu in Telugu, is a sweet dish native to the Indian subcontinent. Usually, it is made with semolina stuffed with a concoction of Khoa, dried fruits, and then fried in ghee. But, can we include Gujiya in kidney patients’ diet?

Hello, and welcome to the best kidney #diet channel, stop kidney dialysis, all about kidney patients’ diet. The new episode of healthy Tadka is Holi special for kidney patients.

#HealthyTadka show has shared a recipe of Gujiya for kidney patients.

For Gujiya, you will need some materials, which are as follows:

Half cup - wheat flour 
Half a cup - semolina
A pinch - cardamom powder (if the doctor has allowed)
A quarter cup - powdered sugar
Half a teaspoon - olive oil
Water - as per requirement

Let us now know how to make Gujiya-

Take a thick bottom pan and place it on the gas stove
Add semolina to it and roast it well 
When the color of semolina becomes light brown, please put it on a plate.
After that, take the flour and add a little oil to it and mix it well. 
Then add water as per your requirements. 
Then knead the dough properly and cover it for 15 minutes. 
Add powdered sugar and cardamom powder in the mixture and mix them well.
Make dough balls and roll them well enough to stuff them with masala and bake them. 
Your Gujiyas will take 15 to 20 minutes to bake perfectly.

Now your Gujiya is ready, and you can enjoy it.
