Hello everybody, hello to you for watching us right now on YouTube live,
00:09.9
00:17.2
and hello to you who found our content on our YouTube channel and now wondering what this is all about.
00:17.3
00:26.6
We're very excited to present you the International Conference on Code Quality, the IEEE sponsored computer science event
00:26.7
00:30.0
which we've been organizing for more that a year.
00:30.1
00:35.9
And now let me tell you quickly the story of how it all started and what's staying behind this.
00:36.0
00:43.2
About a year ago, maybe a little bit earlier, a few people including myself were thinking about
00:43.3
00:53.4
how we can help Russian researchers and practitioners to be more integrated with the international community.
00:53.5
01:01.0
In order to solve this problem, in order to achieve this goal, we found a solution which was quite easy to find.
01:01.1
01:11.1
we decided to organize a truly international computer science conference inside Russia, which would be, as I said, truly international.
01:11.2
01:21.8
In order to make it truly international, we set ourself 5 important objectives, 5 components, 5 success factors of this goal.
01:21.9
01:30.9
First of all, we got support from IEEE. IEEE computer society is one of the largest, maybe even number one organization in the world,
01:31.0
01:38.1
non-profit organization which supports these activities, supports events, community workshops, and things like that.
01:38.2
01:48.9
And we got their support. Second, we put together a program committee of people from different countries and different organizations,
01:49.0
01:58.7
of different companies over the world. We have 30 people right now in the program committee, and only 5 out of them are based in Russia.
01:58.8
02:05.3
We actually even have more people from the USA than people from Russia in the program committee.
02:05.4
02:11.7
So we managed to put together truly international, in our opinion, the committee, the technical or program committee,
02:11.8
02:18.8
of people who decide which articles have to be published, and which articles have to be rejected.
02:18.9
02:25.7
That was the second success factor for us. And actually it was quite difficult to find those people and to convince them
02:25.8
02:32.2
that they should join us to be part of this program committee, because it's a new conference, we're doing it for the first time,
02:32.3
02:42.5
and actually we approached a few hundred people from different organizations, different places, and managed to convince
02:42.6
02:49.4
about 30 of them to join us, which we believe is quite a success.
02:49.5
02:58.7
Number three was the necessity for us to find local partners, so we decided that the conference will be international,
02:58.8
03:04.0
but the sponsors and partners have to be local based in Russia. And we actually found them.
03:04.1
03:10.5
First of all, we found the university, the HSE Higher School of Economics, which is Russian university,
03:10.6
03:18.9
and they supported us with this initiative and gave us all the necessary support.
03:19.0
03:28.8
Also we found three other universities in Russia, which in our opinion are the largest and the most reputable organizations in Russia,
03:28.9
03:40.5
and they also became our supporters, our partners. They didn't help us financially so much, but they gave us quite a lot of organizational support.
03:40.6
03:47.7
And also we found partners, commercial organizations which are based in Russia, not all of them are purely Russian,
03:47.8
03:54.4
it's difficult to imagine right now a large organization which is connected to only one country, but we found 4 great partners.
03:54.5
04:03.6
Number one is of course Huawei Russian Research Institute which is probably one of the largest research organizations in Russia right now,
04:03.7
04:15.1
it contains almost 1000 people and they're all researchers and practitioners, so this organization supports us, and we're glad to say that we managed to find this support.
04:15.2
04:21.9
Also we got support from Kaspersky, it's quite popular, also international company with the headquarters in Russia,
04:22.0
04:27.0
the company is originally Russian. Yandex, another company, also with Russian roots, also now it's
