The January board meeting is one we look forward to each year because January is School Board Appreciation Month.

We always enjoy paying tribute to this All-Star team and having an opportunity...

...to thank them for the countless volunteer hours they give to the students and staff of Klein ISD.

If you see a Board member out and about, please thank them for their service.

And I'm excited to let you know our shared vision -- In Klein ISD, every student enters with a promise and exits with a purpose -- was approved by the board last night.

This vision is a result of the VisionCasting held with each campus and department...

...and will guide our Promise2Purpose strategic planning work this Spring.

Thank you to everyone who participated in setting this vision for our school district.

And speaking of promise, the Board recognized the promotion of 5 outstanding Klein ISD employees.

I look forward to working with them and watching the district advance through their leadership.

The Board also awarded Bridging for Tomorrow a Stand Up for Texas Public Schools award.

This awesome group works tirelessly to support our community and we thank them for their continued service and commitment to our students.

The annual public hearing on the Texas Academic Performance Report...

...and the Accelerated Instruction Results for the End of Course Exams Report were presented.

Highlights include the district's official rating of Met Standard and academic percentages outpacing the state and region.

End of Course exam highlights indicate students receiving accelerated instruction made signifigant gains in all subjects.
