The one thing everyone knows about the kidney is that it works as a filter for the body.

What will happen if it stops working? Today, we will talk about this only

that if a kidney is not working properly, then how we should get it tested.

There are some medical tests with the help of which we can

investigate the health and the functions of the kidneys. Kidney helps regulate the increasing level of creatinine in our body

If because of anything, the level of creatinine has increased up in the

body then you will notice changes in the urination pattern. For instance, decrease in the

amount of urine, itching when passing the urine, pain, the urge to urinate frequently and stomach pain

If you notice any such changes in the urinary function, then

this means your kidney is not healthy. For that, you need to consult your doctor.

Mostly due to a busy schedule people don't take their meals on time. For instance, a person should consume

three meals a day, but takes only two.

and sometimes they spend the whole day long and do not consume anything.

then these are the signs of unhealthy kidneys. If any such things happen, then

it means there is a problem with your kidneys and you need to see your doctor.

Such are the signs which are visible normally with the help of which

you can know about the health of the kidneys but now we will tell you about certain tests

after which you will clearly get to know every information related to the kidneys

So come let us tell you about those tests. To diagnose kidney health and function

there are two tests primarily done one of which is related to the blood

and the other to the urine. In normal language, it is called a kidney function test.

KFT means kidney function tests. This test measures every function related to the kidneys

and lets you know if your kidney is healthy or not.

First of all, we tell you about the first test that comes under the KFT, urine test.

As we told you earlier that during any kidney disease, the first change appear in the body is

the changes in the urinary function. To check this, a urine test is done.

With the help of this test, you get to know that how much creatinine is

present in your urine. If the level of creatinine is less in the urine, then it can indicate

kidney disease clearly. Under the urine test, comes the other test which is called creatinine

clearance test. This test gives you information that in your urine

creatinine level is how much more than the blood creatinine level. Together with this,

this test also tells how much blood kidneys are filtering in how much time.

Now, we come to the second test in the KFT under which comes the further tests

the information on which we will give you. Yes

under the blood test, the first test is a serum creatinine test the work of which is to

know the level of serum creatinine in the blood. If the serum creatinine level in your blood is more than

0.6-1.2 mg then this is a matter of concern for the person.

This also means that your kidney is not able to work its work intendedly. The next test is

blood urea nitrogen which is the second test under the blood test category.

Through this test you get to know the level of urea nitrogen in the blood.

If the urea nitrogen in the blood is more than 7-20 mg,

then this clearly tells you need the treatment of kidney disease. Blood test

also have another test in its category is the eGFR test. During kidney disease

eGr is one of the most important tests that because it tells about the blood filtering capacity of the kidneys.

The blood filtering capacity of the kidney is normally between 90-120 mg per minute.

But if this capacity is reduced that means

your kidneys are not healthy for which it is crucial for you to consult your doctor.

Apart from KFT, you should also go for sonography of the kidneys, biopsy, and DTPA test
