Let us first tell you that what is the function of the kidney

Kidneys are two bean-shaped organs that are located in the retroperitoneal space on both sides of the spine.

They are considered as the primary filtering system of our body.

The average size of the kidneys is 11 cm

And Every day, our kidneys filter 200 litres of blood and removes around two-quarter of wastes.

Our kidneys are linked to the urinary system. In this procedure, wastes materials excess fluid and waste eliminate from the blood.

These wastes gets out of your body through urine.

From this procedure kidneys keep the fliud balance in the body and produces some hormones

that helps the body in the circulation of the red blood cells. Kidneys produces red blood cells.

In KFT, a blood and a urine sample is taken and sent to the lab for determining the functioning of the kidneys.

The first and the foremost credentials in the KFT report is the serum creatinine level.

It is very improtant credentials becuase high creatinine level always indicate kidney disease.

Creatinine is a waste produces from the normal muscles metabolism.

High creatinine level in the blood means your kidneys are not able to perform its functions fluently.

The normal creatinine level ranges from 0.6 to 1.2 per decilter.

If your creatinine level is raise from this level, you should talk to your doctor

Second credential is blood urea nitrogen or BUN

The normal range of BUN or blood urea nitrogen range from 7 to 20 milliliters per deciliter.

BUN level increases due to failure of the kidneys. Next is electrolytes.

The level of potassium and phosphorus should be in balance. If the level rises, it may indicate the presence of impurities in the blood.

Just like that, the uric acid level must be kept in check.

The high level of uric acid may indicate towards unhealthy condition of the kidneys.

Kidney stones are one of the diseases that may occur due to the high level of uric acid

And also increases the risk of kidney infection. How much blood has been filtered by the kidneys can be detected through a GFR test.
