You may know to use a password manager, but do you know how they work?  In today's video I outline the very BASIC process or overview on how password managers work.  Password managers can be a very important security control, depending on how you currently implement your own passwords, but having a basic idea on how they work will better enhance your knowledge and direct your trust towards one particular company.

Ensuring you know the important security control and measures companies must follow is something to look out for when it comes to choosing a good password manager.

In today's video, I walk you through how different password managers implement their solutions in various ways.  When it comes to storing all your passwords, all passwords will be encrypted and decrypted on your client side (and stored with a local implementation and transported with a cloud solution).  In addition, for cloud-based implementations, your master password is combined with a hashing algorithm to make a vault key.  This vault key is then transported over to the cloud where it unlocks the "vault" containing the remaining passwords.
