Hello, Klein ISD. When we last spoke on 90 Second news, school was about to start.
00:08.6
00:15.1
Our educators were excited and filled with promises for their students to make this the best year ever for EVERY student.
00:15.1
00:19.2
And those students showed up eager to see their friends and ready to seek out their purpose.
00:19.2
00:26.9
Klein Cain opened their doors for the first time ever to more than 1,300 students, anticipating building school spirit and camaraderie.

Little did we know that after only 4 days, the southeastern portion of Texas would be devastated by Hurricane Harvey.
00:33.4
00:39.2
Little did we know that right here in our Klein community, homes would be destroyed and families would be displaced.
00:39.3
00:46.5
Little did we know that we would host survivors in two of our facilities and feed families at four locations across our district.
00:46.5
00:54.4
Little did we know that an elementary school would be severely damaged and students would be moved to a high school for the foreseeable future.
00:54.4
01:03.9
But not surprisingly, our community came charging to the aid of complete strangers. Donning masks and gloves to start the recovery process.

01:13.3
01:17.2
...and we will be working to connect them with resources to get them back on their feet.
01:17.2
01:25.3
We are so excited to welcome our students back today...OR...later this week or next week or later in the future.
