Description:
StandardJS 16 was released on October 28, 2020. The beauty of JavaScript Standard Style is that it's simple. No one wants to maintain multiple hundred-line style configuration files for every module/project they work on. Enough of this madness! This module saves you (and others!) time in three ways: 1. No configuration. The easiest way to enforce consistent style in your project. Just drop it in. 2. Automatically format code. Just run standard --fix and say goodbye to messy or inconsistent code. 3. Catch style issues & programmer errors early. Save precious code review time by eliminating back-and-forth between reviewer & contributor. Adopting standard style means ranking the importance of code clarity and community conventions higher than personal style. This might not make sense for 100% of projects and development cultures, however, open-source can be a hostile place for newbies. Setting up clear, automated contributor expectations makes a project healthier. -- Why should you use it? 1. No configuration. 2. Automatically format code. Just run standard --fix. 3. Catch style issues & programmer errors early. -- Link to the official doc: https://standardjs.com/ -- Timestamps: 0:00 Intro 0:56 What is a Linter? 2:03 Why Standard Style? 3:26 Pop Quiz 7:03 Who uses StandardJS? 7:16 Installing and using StandardJS 10:02 Checking standards with "npm test" 10:45 Adding plugin to your IDE 11:37 What's new in Standard 16 12:41 Outro --- If you’re just as crazy for tech as us, we’d love to keep you around.
