and this magnificent thing is the Sony Mavica FD-91.

This camera came out in 1999, and it still has a lot of features you'd see on cameras today.

It's got manual focus control, an optical zoom that's nice and long, it's got a stabilizer

which is this chunk right here, full manual control, it's even got a selfie screen

which I'm not sure Sony really knew why...

...its form factor doesn't lend itself to doing selfies very well

But perhaps the best about this camera is that it runs and stores images on these

1.44MB of floppy glory, and the camera stores anywhere from 6 to 13 images on one of these disks

at an XGA resolution that's 1024 x 768 pixels.

Who really needs more than that anyway?

Anyway, the sounds that this camera makes are just awesome

I'm just nerding out because it reminds me of a Game Boy from when I was a kid

So, let's take a listen

Yeah, that sound of the disk starting up

When you actually take a shot...

Oh, that is a magnificient sound

Even going through the menus...

It feels like I'm jumping up for coins or something like that.
