00:16.7
Okay. Good Evening Guys. Welcome back to Session Two of our Football Academy.
00:16.8
00:19.4
So today will be teaching you guys how to do the inside foot pass.
00:19.5
00:23.7
So before I begin those wearing watches, please put them at the side.
00:23.8
00:28.6
Just to double check, is everybody feeling OK? You all can put your watches first.
00:28.7
00:33.5
00:33.6
00:38.4
00:38.5
00:40.6
Okay, everybody feeling okay?
00:40.7
00:45.5
Yeah, if any point in time you are not feeling well, you can approach any of our coaches and then we can assist you from there.
00:45.6
00:49.0
OK, let's begin. So in football, football is a territory game,
00:49.1
00:53.9
so possession is very important as you will advance your team up the pitch and
00:54.0
00:58.5
that's where you approach the opposition goal and that's where you can create chances and score goals
00:58.6
01:00.0
and then you win the game ultimately.
01:00.1
01:04.8
So in football normally there's a few variation of passes but today we will be teaching you the inside foot
01:04.9
01:08.5
pass which is the most simplest and fundamental pass.
01:08.6
01:13.4
So we'll be breaking down the inside foot pass into PDF which is
01:13.5
01:18.3
an acronym so P is to plant the non-dominant foot beside the ball and when
01:18.4
01:23.2
you plant the foot right when you're plant the non-dominant foot right, remember to leave a gap between the ball
01:23.3
01:25.8
and your feet so that it will not be too awkward to kick the ball.
01:25.9
01:30.0
And then for D you will need to use the inside of the foot to direct the ball to where you want to pass to.
01:30.1
01:34.2
So let's say if I want to pass to KaiBin then I will just point the inside of the foot.
01:34.3
01:37.1
This is the inside of the foot to KaiBin towards KaiBin
01:37.2
01:42.0
and then for follow through is just to put your body weight through the ball so they will be able to generate enough force
01:42.1
01:46.5
and then the ball be able to travel fast and hard so that it would be harder for the opponents to intercept.
01:46.6
01:51.1
But at the same time, do remember to control your strength so that your teammate will be able to control it.
01:51.2
01:56.0
So now I'll do a demonstration from the front view, so to plant and then you
01:56.1
01:57.4
direct and then you follow through.
01:57.5
02:00.0
Now from the side view with the ball.
02:00.1
02:04.9
I'll plant my foot beside the ball, then I'll direct to where KaiBin is and then
02:05.0
02:05.9
I'll follow through.
02:06.0
02:12.6
I'll do it again. Plant. Direct, and follow through.
02:12.7
02:19.1
So I hope all of you remember PDF and then please use it subsequently in the drills that we have.
02:19.2
02:24.0
Okay, so can I get all of you all to be in groups of four groups of four? Since they're 16 of you
02:24.1
02:28.9
so can you all line up accordingly into four rows?
02:29.0
02:33.5
Four rows four group. Ya
02:33.6
02:38.4
I think there will be one group that is short, right? Ya, so JunLong would be joining your group.
02:38.5
02:43.3
The group of three. Ya, this group, Okay, you all can just sit down. Can just sit down.
02:43.4
02:48.2
Okay. So before I start, can I get one volunteer?
02:48.3
02:52.6
JunLong and Valentia. Yes, very good very good.
02:52.7
02:57.6
Okay. So we'll be using this court to demonstrate. So maybe can I get the three of you'll to move out a bit?
02:57.7
03:02.5
Ya, Okay. So each of you will be standing behind.
03:02.6
03:07.4
Phoebe can I get you to demonstrate as well, like maybe you just stand behind.
03:07.5
03:12.3
Ya, err, sorry you two can move behind a bit, ya okay, so
03:12.4
03:17.2
for the second drill this is called the square passing. So you will have four people in the court.
03:17.3
03:22.1
So all the courts are actually coloured. So all of you will be standing behind the cone
03:22.2
03:24.8
and we will be passing the ball in a clockwise direction.
03:24.9
03:29.7
Before you all pass, I want all you to call out your teammate's name. So for example, the person
03:29.8
03:34.6
that is standing with the ball, he's the first person, JunLong will be calling
03:34.7
03:39.5
KaiBin, so he will do whatever he did,
03:39.6
03:44.4
the PDF, he will call for KaiBin's name. KaiBin will call for Phoebe's name.
03:44.5
03:48.0
And Phoebe will be calling Valentia's name.
03:48.1
03:52.1
So this would be one cycle and we will be doing this for about a minute.
03:52.2
03:57.0
Is there any questions? No, okay, so I will be using the whistle
03:57.1
04:01.9
to signal to you guys. So one beep would stand for the start,
04:02.0
04:05.8
then two beeps will be to stop. Is there any questions? No questions?
04:05.9
04:13.5
Okay, can I get all of you to get into your respective courts, So maybe this one can go over there and then these two.
04:13.6
04:18.4
04:22.1
04:28.7
OK, is everyone ready? OK on the count.
04:31.6
04:37.5
Can call out your teammates louder.
04:37.6
04:42.4
Remember better control of the ball, your follow through.
04:44.1
04:49.1
Good pass, very good pass, yes, good control of the ball.
04:49.2
04:54.0
Good control as well, maybe your follow-through can be abit bigger.
04:54.1
04:58.9
04:59.0
05:03.8
Good control, can you pass in a clockwise direction? In a square? No problem no problem
05:03.9
05:08.7
05:08.8
05:13.6
Good job, good pass, good footwork. Very good.
05:13.7
05:18.5
Is okay, very good footwork
05:22.6
05:28.0
Good strength good strength
05:28.1
05:31.8
Okay, okay can every stop? Can every hear me?
05:31.9
05:36.7
Okay, so now we will be adding on the challenge, so you guys will
05:36.8
05:41.2
be given one more ball each. So there will be two balls passing around each other. Is that okay?
05:41.3
05:49.9
So the same rule. Clockwise, and also PDF as well as calling of your teammate's name. Is everyone okay?
05:50.0
05:54.8
Okay, so when all teams are ready, you all will be getting your second ball,
05:54.9
05:59.7
and we can start.
05:59.8
06:04.6
06:04.7
06:09.5
06:09.6
06:14.4
Maybe you can aim a bit first? Aim a bit.
06:14.5
06:19.4
Look at the person that you are passing to. Yes PDF.
06:19.7
06:24.2
Call your teammates name.
06:24.3
06:29.1
Good job, eyes on the ball. Eyes on the ball. Very Good Job.
06:33.0
06:40.4
Good Job, slowly slowly dont rush. Give yourself some time.
06:41.4
06:46.3
Please stand behind the cone, please stand behind the cone.
06:46.4
06:51.2
Calm down, calm down, dont need to rush.
06:51.3
06:58.6
Okay. Okay, can I get you guys to put the balls back to the cone and gather back in front?
07:04.4
07:12.5
Can just sit back in your groups. Okay, great job everyone, so we will be moving on to the second drill.
07:12.6
07:18.5
Okay, so for the second drill right, we will be trying passing in a game like situation.
07:18.6
07:22.4
So for this segment right, I want this two courts to combine into one group of 8,
07:22.5
07:25.9
and this two courts to combine into another group of 8. Okay?
07:26.0
07:29.3
So, before I explain the game, can you all look at the whiteboard?
07:29.4
07:34.2
So within your groups of 8 itself right, as noted by the yellow magnet, I want
07:34.3
07:39.1
two volunteers to be the defenders, so you all will be staying in the playing zone.
07:39.2
07:44.5
Then 1 participant will be in Zone A, and 1 participant will be in Zone B.
07:44.6
07:49.4
So the remaining 4 of you all will be in the playing zone with the defenders as well.
07:51.4
07:56.2
So the main aim of this game is just to pass the ball from one zone to the other.
07:56.3
08:00.4
So for example right, if the coaches passes the ball from Zone A,
08:00.5
08:04.0
you all will just need to pass the ball from here, all the way to here.
08:04.1
08:10.1
So a minimum of 3 passes is required, and the defenders are not allowed to enter Zone A or B.
08:10.2
08:22.7
Okay? So for example right, you all can pass like here here and here. Here here here or here here here here. As long as its 3 passes.
08:22.8
08:27.6
Okay, so any questions before we start?
08:27.7
08:32.5
So for the zone, the people here are free to move around.
08:32.6
08:35.0
But the people here have to stay within the zone itself.
08:35.1
08:40.8
So, just take note that if the defender intercepts the ball, there will be a change over of defenders and
08:40.9
08:46.1
if you all manage to achieve the aim of passing from one side to the other, there will be a swap over of defenders and players as well.
08:46.2
08:51.0
So those that are defenders will become the players and players will become the defenders, is that okay?
08:51.1
08:55.9
Can you all go into your respective courts first?
08:56.0
09:00.8
09:00.9
09:05.7
09:05.8
09:10.6
Can the defenders get the sashes from KaiBin?
09:10.7
09:15.5
09:15.6
09:20.4
09:20.5
09:24.8
So just take note, this will be Zone A. Can everyone look at me first?
09:24.9
09:30.0
This will be Zone A. Here will be the playing zone, and those two markers over there will be Zone B.
09:30.1
09:34.9
At the start of my whistle, you all may begin.
09:35.0
09:39.8
Sorry, sorry.
09:39.9
09:44.7
09:44.8
09:49.6
Ya.
09:49.7
09:54.5
Can try to move to open area ya.
09:54.6
09:55.4
09:58.3
10:00.3
Nice pass, nice follow through.
10:00.4
10:05.2
Try not to dribble too much.
10:05.3
10:10.1
You all can have a change over of players.
10:12.9
10:16.3
Try to control the ball and keep it on the ground.
10:16.4
10:21.2
Look at your teammates before you pass the ball.
10:21.3
10:26.1
Nice follow through! Change over.
10:26.2
10:31.0
10:31.1
10:35.9
10:36.0
10:39.3
Try to make sure that the person catches the ball.
10:39.4
10:44.2
Ya, try to control the ball.
10:44.3
10:49.1
10:49.2
10:54.0
10:54.1
10:58.9
10:59.0
11:03.8
Bianca, try to follow through abit more.
11:03.9
11:08.9
Nice follow through. But try to control your ball ya, dont let it get kicked out of the boundary.
11:09.0
11:13.8
11:13.9
11:18.7
11:21.6
11:28.4
Try to remember PDF before you pass.
11:28.5
11:33.3
11:33.4
11:38.2
11:38.3
11:43.1
11:45.5
11:48.0
Try to stay within the playing area.
11:49.7
11:52.9
Ammar Ammar, inside inside.
11:53.0
11:57.8
Nice follow through.
11:57.9
12:02.7
Elyn, dont stand inside the zone. Never mind, its okay its okay.
12:02.8
12:07.6
12:07.7
12:12.5
Move to open area. Nice pass!
12:16.9
12:27.9
Try to keep the ball on the ground.
12:28.0
12:32.8
12:32.9
12:37.7
12:39.1
12:42.6
Nice PDF!
12:42.7
12:47.5
12:50.9
12:57.7
Okay, can you all stop and gather back in front of the whiteboard?
13:00.0
13:06.1
Come, you can take a seat in front, we will be doing a debrief.
13:08.3
13:13.7
Yep, okay so good job on all the drills, so just recap right, for the last drill that you all did
13:13.8
13:17.2
game-based scenario, are there any challenges that you all faced?
13:17.3
13:22.1
Anyone can just sound out like what challenges you all face when playing.
13:22.2
13:27.0
Okay can, then how did you overcome that challenges?
13:27.1
13:33.3
Yup another one? Okay all are good strategies.
13:33.4
13:38.2
Let me give a scenario. Example you are playing a game and you see your
13:38.3
13:43.1
teammate having two defenders coming towards him, and he is the one holding the ball, so how would you want to like
13:43.2
13:54.5
support or help him in that situation, to maintain the possession for the ball itself applying from what you just now learnt in the game situation.
13:54.6
14:02.7
Yup yup, good! This create opportunities for your teammates to pass to you, because if you dont have the space then your teammate cannot pass to you.
14:02.8
14:07.6
So you all did a very good job on that. So now lets just recap on what we have learnt today.
14:07.7
14:13.2
PDF. So what is P? D? And F?
14:13.3
14:18.1
Yup and can you all point to the inside of your foot, where you all use to kick? Very good!
14:18.2
14:22.7
Okay, so what was the most enjoyable part of the entire session itself?
14:22.8
14:29.1
Do you all have any feedback? The game? Okay, what do you find fun? Can communicate with your friend or like
14:29.2
14:34.0
can run around? Both? Okay yup, very good on that.
14:34.1
14:38.9
With that, I thank you all for your active participation in today's training.
14:39.0
14:43.8
Yup you all did very good, you all meet the objective, able to pass properly and apply it in a game-based situation.
14:43.9
14:50.7
So, good job to everybody! Remember to rest well. If anybody not feeling well or injured?
14:50.8
14:55.6
No, all okay right? Okay then, take care, see you all next week!
