The Peace of the Lord, brothers and sisters! Now we are going to make a parallel between the 7 days of creation and the work of Jesus Christ here on earth.

What could the seven days have to do with Jesus' work?

Well, the first thing we are going to see is that all of this has a very intimate relationship with Jesus and his disciples.

On the first day the Bible says that there was Light, "God said, 'Let there be light'" (Gen. 1.3)

On the second day He made a separation between waters and waters.

On the third day, God created trees and fruits, and seeds, these things.

On the fourth day God created the luminaries and said that they should be there to mark the seasons, days, and years.

This will work mainly for the people of Israel for sacred dates.

“Mow'ed” [Hebrew] means fixed time or season, they are solemn feasts to the Lord.

On the fifth day God created sea creatures and birds, marine animals, flying animals, alright?!

On the sixth day he created the rest of animals and humanity.

And on the seventh day the Bible says that the "Shabath" [Hebrew], which is the Sabbath, is the day of rest,

God rested, although He did not need to rest. Jesus said: “To this very day My Father is at His work, and I too am working". (Jn 5.17)

What did Jesus [do] and what the Father and Jesus do today? We will understand!

On the first day it says that God created the light, saying: "Let there be light", and there was light, in darkness there was light.

In verse 1 of Genesis it says: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and void,

and darkness was over the surface of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters. And God said, ‘Let there be light’, and there was light”. (Gen. 1-1-3)

And Jesus Christ said that He is the light of the world.

Let's read John, chapter 1... I'm going to start from chapter 1 because this is a very important subject.

In John, chapter 1, says so (note when he speaks of light): “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

He [the Word] was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made”. (Jn 1.1-3)

So he's talking about the beginning! "All things were made by him (...)",

and then he says: "In him was life, and that life was the light of men". (Jn 1.4) He is talking about the beginning and he is talking about the light.

"The light shines in the darkness,[look, God made the separation of light and darkness that day, called the light "day" and the darkness "night"] and the darkness has not overcome it". (Jn 1.5)

Interestingly, light was created before the sun, before the luminaries (sun, moon and stars).

“There was a man sent from God whose name was John. He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all might believe.

He himself was not the Light; he came only as a witness [testify] to the Light.

The true Light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world. He was in the world [Jesus], and though the world was made through him,

“the world was made by Him!”

the world did not recognize him. He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him.

Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God” (Jn 1:6-12) [these are the children of God].

Some rejected Jesus, it is not irresistible, Grace was offered to everyone, but "his own received him not".

"who were born, [us, children of God] not of blood, [is not of the seed of Abraham, in the flesh], nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God". (Jn 1:13)

Remember what Jesus says? “You must be born again, Nicodemus... Be born of water and the Spirit, it's not the ones born in the flesh who are already saved”. (Jo 3.1-21)

“The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, [his brilliance], the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

John [Baptist] testified concerning him. He cried out, saying, "This is the one I spoke about when I said, 'He who comes after me has surpassed me [which is Jesus], because he was before me.'" (Jn 1:14-15)

Out of his fullness we have all received grace in place of grace already given. For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth [reality] came through Jesus Christ.

No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known”. (John 1: 16-18)

Therefore, every time you see the image of God in the Old Testament, when a man saw God, he did see God, but in his image: Christ!

Every time someone had contact and saw God, they spoke to God face to face, they did speak to God Himself,

but they spoke with the image of God, his son Jesus, who is the Light that shines in the midst of darkness.

Now, look how interesting! John, chapter 3, verse 19.

Remember that those who believe in the name of Jesus, these are saved, so let's look at verse 18 first:

“Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.

This is the verdict: Light has come into the world [the Light present in the creation of the world in Gen 1.3],

but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil”. They liked the darkness better because their works were evil.

“Everyone who does evil hates the light, [they want to hide from the light]

and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed [those who do wrong things don't like to be questioned].

But whoever practices the truth comes to the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God”. (Jo 3.20-21)

In the beginning, darkness covered the whole earth, but the Light came.

Now let's go to John, chapter 8, verse 12:

“When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, 'I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life'".

Remember when Jesus said: whoever wants to to follow me, deny themselves, abandon the things you learned in darkness, alright?! (Mt 16.24)

Now you will be shaped according to the illumination of God's understanding.

David also says this: Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path. (Ps 119,105) Jesus is the light!

Now let's follow to the second point: the waters, right?!

Jesus says something interesting in a conversation with a woman in John, chapter 4, from verses 10 to 14:

“Jesus answered her, 'If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.'"

"Sir," the woman said, "you have nothing to draw with and the well is deep. Where can you get this living water? [do you know what a ‘living water’ is? It is the water that springs from a source,

then she asks: how are you going to give me living water, running water, since you don't even have a bucket to draw water from the well.]

Are you greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did also his sons and his livestock?"

Jesus answered, "Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again,

but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life."

Look, brothers and sisters! Living waters, that's what He's saying here!

Now in chapter 7, verse 38 [of John] it says thus: “Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them."

Here Jesus makes a connection about the water.

Then: trees, fruits and seeds. You remember that Jesus speaks of the parable about the Gospel: “The sower went out to sow his seed…”, (Lk 8.5-15)

the figure of the Word of God as a seed, its fruits are the works that you do, and He puts himself as the tree, when He says: "I am the true vine (...)".

John 15, here [on the whiteboard] I just put verses 1 and 5. Let's read verse 1: “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener”.

And here He will talk about fruits, alright?! “He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.

You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you.

Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.

I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing”. (Jn 15.2-5)

Tree, fruit, seed ... preaching. So here Jesus makes a connection with one of the days [of creation], this parallel is evident, right?!

Fourth: the luminaries.

We will read Malachi 4:2, (come on, while I open my bible you open yours too):

“But for you who fear my name, the sun of righteousness [this is Christ] shall rise

with healing [or salvation] n its wings; [on the edge of his garments, like when the woman touches Jesus garments and is healed/saved (Mt 9.20-22)]

You shall go out leaping like calves from the stall”. They will be happy, right?! happy, bouncing calf ...

Now in Psalm 84:11 it says so ... (look how nice it is!)

“For the LORD God is a sun and shield; The LORD gives grace and glory; No good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly”. (Ps 84.11)

The LORD is “sun and shield”, Jesus is the “sun of justice”.

Matthew 13:43 says, "Then the righteous [you who are the son of the Light] will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears, let him hear."

In Daniel, he says that those who teach many will shine like the stars in the sky, always and forever, shining more and more.

Matthew 17, verse 2: Jesus “There he was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and his clothes became as white as the light”.
