Some of the highlights from the November Board meeting...next!

Last night, the Board of Trustees held their monthly meeting.

The night began with recognition of the veterans in the audience.

It was indeed an honor to recognize our veterans on the heels of the successful Veterans Day breakfast and Pass-In-Review last Friday.

If you weren't able to make it to this year's event, mark your calendar for 2017.

Students and teachers from Ehrhardt Elementary and Strack Intermediate were introduced by campus administrators and recognized by the Board.

I love seeing these young leaders at the Board meetings and having the opportunity to recognize our outstanding teachers!

This month's recipient of the TASB Stand Up for Texas Public Schools award...

...went to the American Association of University Women of North Harris County.

This group faithfully supports Klein by funding programs and awarding campus grants.

Since 1993, the AAUW has awarded more than $53,000 to our campuses.

We certainly appreciate their support of our students.

The Board approved the Klein legislative priorities last night.

Each biennium, the district develops a comprehensive document in support of our students...

...to meet their teaching and learning needs and allow for efficient and effective operations.

The 2016 Legislative Priorities are organized in 4 key areas...

...school finance, local control, assessment & accountability and anti-vouchers.

Finally, join me in welcoming Cathy Arellano, our newly elected Board member.

Ms. Arellano is a retired Klein ISD administrator and local business owner.

She will be sworn in at the December Board meeting and we look forward to adding her to the Board.
