At the beginning of the novel Heathcliff was presented as an orphan boy brought in by Mr. Earnshaw. The Earnshaw family didn’t really accept him other than Mr. Earnshaw and this caused a lot of complications throughout his childhood. Once Mr. Earnshaw died, Heathcliff’s childhood became even more abusive because of Hindley. Later on Catherine betrays Heathcliff by marrying Edgar, seeing as they had a love for each other and a bond progressed over the time he was there a Wuthering Heights. He ran away for three year and his life became consumed with revenge. He is presented as a very cruel and unloving man, he is very quite and that is how he truly is. It is not as though he just appears this way, but actually is a really nice person, he is just a really mean dude. He remain that way throughout the entirety of the novel, until his death. He becomes very depressed and doesn’t eat that much and he tells Nelly he feels he will “finally find his heaven” which is being buried next to Catherine.
