My name is Maria Concepcion Balboa Buika,

although in my work and everyday life I go by Concha Buika.

I was born in Palma de Mallorca.

I’m a singer - although I do many more things.

And I currently live in Miami Beach.

I think making art, music, creating stories and fantasies started when I was born.

It was when I became an adult that it was understood that I wasn’t a liar

or a problematic person, but rather that rather that I was simply a creative woman.

But by then I had already been in some trouble.

When I put all of my creativity into bettering humanity instead of self-destructing

then it started to work out well and people started calling me Buika and saying my name on the streets and stuff like that.

Well ever since I was a little girl, me and my sister would come up with songs and stuff like that.

I think music was always with me but when I started to understand that it was a way to communicate with the world,I took it more seriously.
