Description:
Classic NET episode from 1970. Mister Rogers begins the show by bringing a "YIELD" sign to show television viewers what it means. He explains the meaning of "YIELD" by using blocks as cars and makes a pretend street to demonstrate what the "YIELD" sign means. He then talks about triangles, and uses his fingers and three blocks to form a triangle and the letter "V". After singing "Today is a Very Special Day", He asks picture Picture to show a film about triangles. In the kitchen, Mr. Rogers puts together a small toy sailboat and floats it in the sink. He sings a French song called "Il y Avait Une Fois" as he thinks about a place in Paris, France where kids sail their toy boats. Betty Aberlin stops by to deliver a model of Grandpere's Eiffel Tower made by Bob Trow. In the Land of Make Believe, Grandpere and Henrietta Pussycat express their concern for the King and Queen who had returned from their trip to Westwood with Handyman Negri. Asking Grandpere's machine about their whereabouts, Lady Aberlin is instructed to play her triangle 13 times. After doing so, King Friday XIII, Queen Sara, and Handyman Negri return to the Land of Make Believe. Lady Aberlin visits her uncle King Friday XIII at the castle where she is invited inside to the "S" room where king Friday will share a secret. Back at the house, Mr. Rogers sings "Waiting" and talks about how waiting can be difficult sometimes. He concludes by writing a letter "V" on a piece of paper and thinking of words that start with the letter V.
