Hey Cake Chums and welcome back to another video! 
Unless you've been hiding away under a rock, you probably already know that The Great British Bake Off is back on our screens - and that means it is time for the return of The Great British Bakealong! 
Just like last year, every week for the next ten weeks, I will be attempting to bake along with the bakers in the tent - but, this year, I'm switching things up! Rather than exclusively baking along with the Technical Challenges like I have done in previous years, in 2020, YOU will get to decide which challenges I take on! For this week's first episode, the vote was overwhelmingly in favour of the Signature challenge, so I will be attempting to create my very own Battenberg Cake recipe.

PS. I’ll warn you, as I’m introducing the challenge – as well as baking two cakes, whipping up a batch of ganache AND making marzipan from scratch – this week’s episode is a little longer than the norm, but hopefully they won’t all be quite so feature length… 😉
