The Third Stage of Labour begins with the delivery of the Fetus and ends with the delivery of the placenta and its membranes and this is very crucial to manage if not done properly can cause PPH, Inversion of the Uterus as complications. One can manage it with the 2 methods- 1. Expectant Management- Wait & Watch constantly to deliver out the placenta and its membrane spontaneously. It takes 15-20 min. to complete. 2. AMTSL (Active Management of the Third Stage of Labour) - It takes 5-10 min. to complete.
