Last night's board meeting was packed with excitement. Stay tuned...

The October Board of Trustees meeting started off my favorite way.

Principal Cassandra Christian from Bernshausen Elementary introduced two outstanding students and one staff member.

Followed by Schindewolf principal, Curtis Simmons doing the same.

I love recognizing our students and teachers.

The American Heart Association was here to present the district with a Fit-Friendly award...

...recognizing the efforts of our Kleinwell program encouraging employees to live a healthy lifestyle.

Buddy Brown was recognized with a Stand Up for Texas Public Schools award...

...for chairing the Klein ISD Education Foundation golf tournament for 15 years and for being an exceptional district supporter.

Represenatives from the Texas Gulf Coast Maintenance and Operations Association recognized August Wunderlich...

...the Director of Maintenance with the Commitment to Excellence award.

August was given a $1,000 scholarship for a Klein ISD student.

And for their annual report, Population and Survey Analyst, the district demographers, forecast student growth for the next ten years...

...indicating an increase of just over 9,100 students, inching the district closer to our build-out number of around 65,000 students.

And having now completed my 100th day in the district, I reported some findings from my entry plan.

I'll report out in much more detail in the coming weeks, but please know the district is in great shape...

...with strong processes and great people.

But I'll leave you with this thought. Imagine this. In Klein ISD, every student enters with a promise and exits with a purpose.

This is what I heard from our community. And that's our vision.
