This Gigabyte monitor is briliant

We are telling you this because we've played around with it,testing it thoroughly and we think it's incredible

First of all 27" inches and 240 hertz

Trust me you don't need any more that that

The monitor can be adjusted vertically,from left to right or it can be rotated

Practically it can be adjusted in any position of your liking

The assembly or disassembly process is a very easy one

The box contains a power cord,hdmi cable,diplay port cable and the stand

The stand,basically this big V shaped piece attaches itself to the bottom with only one screw and nothing more

You are only going to need a screwdriver to attach the two pieces together

Afterwards the two pieces can be slided in the monitor

Basically it has only two clips holding it in place if you ever need to take it apart

Also on the backside this monitor comes with a VESA mount

If you'd like to use it with a brace,tripod or even on a wall it can be done straigh out of the box

BIG THUMBS UP!

As you can see the bezels are very slim and the screen looks good from every viewing angle

The image quality is good and the menu...

Well it's different from other monitors.Let me show you

The menu can be controlled by pressing the button placed under the AORUS badge

By pressing right you can activate the dashboard

This will display temperatures,frequencies,voltages however it requires the application to be installed and the USB cable to be plugged in

Because we don't have any of those things we're just going to turn this feature off

Also the dashboard cointains a feature called Gaming Assist

The gaming assist submenu contains a crosshair,a gaming timer,counter and a shortcut for the refresh rate

This refresh rate shorcut basically matches you monitors refresh rate with the numbers of frames per second in game

Also by pressing the menu button and then pressing towards yourself the monitor can be shut down

And by pressing the button forward a menu containing all the monitor's settings can be accesed

Settings like,Gaming,Picture,Display,Picture in Picture if you'd wish to use two computers with this monitor

Infos,save settings and reset settings

In the picture in picture section you can select the source,location,size,display switch and audio switch

We aren't going to use this feature at the moment

In the gaming submenu you can turn on or off the Black Equalizer,we personaly keep it disabled

Super Resolution,we keep it disabled

Overdrive is set to balanced

Amd Freesync is enabled because we're using an AMD card,more specifically an RX 6800

This function called Black Equalized accentuates the black colour

The picture submenu contains an assortment of settings depending on your needs

For now we personally are going to use the Standard mode in order to see how good it looks by default

Apart from the Dynamic Contrast,we turned it off because we have no need for it

The display submenu allows us to change the the Input or RGB Range,we have use the 0-255 range or Auto

And that's about every item contained in this monitor's menu

On the back of the monitor we can find an USB HUB with one USB input and two outputs

Basically you can use a cable going from the computer to the monitor

Resulting in two more USB ports that can be used to hook up a mouse and keyboard for example

Also the monitor can be connected using HDMI or DisplayPort

Honestly I recomend using DisplayPort and considering there's allready a cable that comes in the box,it's the best choice for the monitor to run at the full 240 hertz

That's the way we used it in our tests and it ran perfectly

And Freesync turned on with no problems on the first try

Let me show you how to switch the referesh rate from Windows

Right click the desktop and choose Display settings

Scroll down to Advanced Display Settings

And here scroll down,click on refresh rate and choose 240 hertz

Afterwards click "Keep Changes"

As of now the monitor is operating at a refresh rate of 240 hertz

Careful,you need to have the DisplayPort cable connected in order for this to work

Basically,it's very easy to have a 240 hertz refresh rate without even the smallest problem

I'm informing you of this because we played on it

As you can see this CS:GO session is looking and performing perfectly without any problems

In order to for us to be sure there wouldnt be any problems we also performed the "UFO" test

Test that we perform every time in order to check the ghosting or blur of a monitor

And we can say for a fact that the ghosting is so little that I had to look very close up in order to check it

From what you've seen while presenting the menu we choose the Balanced option,not the fast nor the slow option

The colours are well adjusted,the display looks good

The blacks are very black as you can see,there's also a included fuction that accentuates the blacks

We personally disabled it for editing purposes because we preffer the colours to be uniform

But this is strictly our case,if you game I recomend to activate that function

Some final conclusions,it's a very cool 27" monitor,we have nothing bad to say about it

Honestly it's worth every penny

The monitor also includes some RGB strips on the back of the stand

Honestly I for one don't know why you would wan't RGB even on a monitor stand

But hey,it's there.Maybe in complete darkness it casts a nice light on the wall next to it
