Chris Guillebeau once said, “Most successful people do not follow a linear path.”

His words should provide a welcome relief to many.

Too many people assume they have to know their life’s goals at a young age, attend college,

and then get a job in their field—but life doesn’t often happen in that order.

It’s okay to attend college later in life, change career paths, or choose the path of an apprenticeship.

The most important thing is that you keep moving. Don’t get stuck in a place where you aren’t happy or content.

Find steps you can take that will bring you where you want to go—

and don’t give up until you find that place. As Denis Waitley said, “Happy people don’t plan results;
