Hi. I'm Jenny McGown, Chief Learning Officer for Klein ISD.

And I'm pinch-hitting for Dr. Champion this week.

In Klein, we share a vision that every student enters with a promise and exits with a purpose.

We will achieve this vision by focusing on...

...leadership, equity, challenge, pathways and continuous improvement.

Let's take a deeper look at the leadership strand.

Our leadership goal is to retain, attain and grow excellent leaders so EVERY student learns in a quality environment.

In doing so, we must first strategically plan and develop guiding documents to direct our work.

The strategic plan will be a living document that outlines how we'll make our shared vision a reality.

Guiding documents will literally guide our work not only with the strategic plan, but in everything we do for students each day.

These guiding documents include collaboratively developing a profile of a learner...

...a profile of a leader and defining high-quality teaching.

This work began with Table Talk when we asked you to tell us what a student should know and be able to do after graduation.

We thank you for participating as we received more than 2,000 interesting responses.

Now we're formulating the Table Talk results into a working document for feedback.

One of the exciting ways we'll solicit feedback is through our first ever Alumni Bowl.

Yep, the week before the Super Bowl, we're inviting our alumni to help us update the playbook on what a Klein learner should look like.
