The reason behind these actions is a lack of self-confidence. The unsurety of doing the actions.

While doing it they are not confident, after they forget whether they did it or not. Therefore the repetitions.

Belongingness. Their loneliness might be the reason why the repeat it.

Fear of being misunderstood. They think that if they make a mistake, people who care about them might feel bad.

What will they think of me if I tell them about my problems? So, they apologize frequently.

Sense of losing safety and comfort. Worrying about losing their health, safety or lifestyle.

Therefore, they keep cleaning things. Repeating things.

Ruminations of the past unwanted events. Things that they did by mistake,

Redo things due to that, Fear of impending doom. They would keep checking the door locks
