Hey guys welcome to the making of "Sorry to Future Me"

My debut EP

When I first started coming up with the idea of an EP, I knew I wanted to tell a story

Almost all of the songs on the EP are just songs I never even planned on showing anyone until now

To be honest as a songwriter, writing songs in your bedroom at 3 am

is something that's very vulnerable and something very special to me because its songs that I don't necessarily plan on releasing

I remember I would invite friends over and I would play it for them or over facetime since we were in quarantine

... I remember all of my friends being like "you have to release them, you have to do it"

So basically that was kinda how it came to be

Part One: "haven't really met him yet"

Originally this song was completely different, i wrote this song back in 2020

in my room with my guitar. This one was rewritten so many times.

When I tell you, I literally finished this song a week ago I mean it.

The reason why this one took the longest was because

I just wanted to get it right, it was the first song of the EP and its the one that sets the tone of the rest...

...and introduces the characters and the story between these two people .

The opening line of the song says:

"It all began on one night, when I had stayed out late, a fish in a sea of wrong guys"

"While drinking away, and yelling that we've only got one life"

"What the hell was I doing?"

So basically the song is about being in a party, feeling out of place, feeling socially akward...

... while looking at your phone, trying to ignoring what's going on around you..

...and then meeting a guy...

... but instead of meeting him at the party..

... you meet a guy online

This song is about not necessary falling for someone in the normal way

I thinks its cool to see that play out in the video. We shot it a few days ago (August 2021)...

We cast a bunch of amazing actors who were willing to help us out and we created a big party scene.

We also wanted to show, this guy who is always chasing you, but deep down...

... for some reason I am the kind of person who likes to chase the impossible and go after what I can't have..

... and in this case it's the guy on the screen except the guy standing in front of me...

...and I think its cool to show it in the video as well.

There was this really very fun scene that we got to do which is with all the girls wearing pajamas and having sleepover

one of my insipirations for that scene was "West Side Story"

I did that show and one of my favorite songs was "I feel pretty"

Because Maria is feeling on top of the world, falling in love...

...and its what I want to recreate, that feeling of "Oh my God, guys, I am in love"

And telling to your friends about this complicated situation and trying to make them understand the way that you are feeling...

... in this fun little dance. It was actually blocked and choreographed by my mom.

- He's not real

- Oh, so you've physically seen him in person?

- Well no... but I mean, I've talked to him before, it's not like...

- And he's talked back to you?

And that was basically "haven't really met him yet"

It was a really fun video and it when I meet Mason in Brookyn

...it didn't survive, it's acutally broken now, but...
