So that's when they said to me,

"Let's go. Sign up for the VP30 Reunion Concert."

I said, "Do you think they'll make us dance? My knees don't work, my hips don't work,..."

"...and this right here is way too big."

The first song is called "Permission to Dance."

...so... [laughter]

...so I called my buddy Mike and asked if he's up for it. [laughter]

There was silence on the phone for two solid minutes.

When he finally came on, he said,

"If I show up with a..." [laughter]

"...with a cane will they let me dance in an armchair?..."

"...I don't know how many of the old guys will be there,..."

"...but it sounds like TONS of fun."

I told him...

...none of the choreographers saw us dance in the first place...

...they have no idea what we're capable of.

And get this...

...they told us they want to broadcast this thing worldwide.

Worldwide!

Seriously

There's more pressure this time than any of the performances we did while we were in the group.

And the only skills I retain from that period is documented here on my van driver card.

My van card...

...was signed by Brigham Young himself.

And so I'm going to show up...

...to show up...

...to show up to rehearsal and hope they don't cut me from the production.

Mike said, "They might. I've seen you dance..."

"...remember how hard it was for you at the 25th one-shot mashup?"

**Did you mess that up?**

I couldn't even "Vogue" properly. [Laughter]

They kept pushing me further and further back in the dance lines.

I can't unsee it in the mashup.

And so this time the stakes are even higher.

**Do you think this time is going to be harder?**

I wave my hands around like they're not even part of the movement. Have you seen me dance?

So I'm going to bring a cane and an armchair too.

And let's not mention my voice...

It might not even hold up through rehearsals.

...not even one rehearsal.

And that's why I didn't try out for a solo.
