Hello everyone! Bret Champion here with your weekly update.

As you get to know me better, you'll learn there are some topics that really get me fired up.

Like looking at everything we do through the lens of student learning.

Another one is making our voices heard by voting.

About now, we're all a little tired of seeing all the political ads on TV and the constant news coverage.

But we can never forget how important engaging in the politial process is.

Today, I want to talk to you about why it's important to get registered to vote,

To learn about the candidates and to vote for those that best represent what you believe in.

Hey, I know that life can be hectic and you're busy.

You may feel that your single vote will not made a difference. I get it.

But we must do our very best to change the current culture of voter indifference because

Your vote DOES count. Your vote DOES make a difference!

We want to lead the charge in creating a culture of voting in the Klein community.

In the coming weeks, you will see reminders from us about voter registration and the importance of voting.

I encourage each of you to make a personal commitment to become about the candidates and issues.

To consider volunteering at your local polling station.

And most importantly, to vote.

The last day to register to vote in the upcoming general election is October 11th.

Early voting is October 4th through November 4th.

And election day is November 8th.
