School started yesterday. Hear how that went and more, next.

Hello everyone! Bret Champion here with your 90 Second update.

In the last two days, I've visted each campus. And the excitement of the new school year can be seen througout the district.

In Klein ISD, we're thrilled to welcome our students back to school.

And just look at the number of students we had walk through our doors.

To put that in context,this number makes Klein ISD the 20th largest school district in Texas.

And just think, historically, by the 10th day of school we'll add another 2,000 students.

Now that's a big number!

And speaking of big...

Yesterday marked the grand opening of our newest school, Mahaffey Elementary.

Principal Dayna Hernandez, a Klein product by the way, and her new team did a phenomenal job in welcoming the scotties on Monday.

The staff was decked out in plaid and the kids were eager and excited to begin their learning journey in this beautiful new school.

At Mahaffey Elementary and at all of our schools in Klein ISD, it's clear this year is going to be phenomenal.

I look forward to working with each of you as we continue on Klein ISD's path of excellence.

Better never stops. So as we move from days one and two...all the way through days 175 and 176...
