UTI or as the name suggests Urinary tract infection

any infection affecting the urinary tract is known as urinary tract infection.

before moving forward it is important to understand the urinary tract.

our urine system is made from 4 parts, as the image suggests

first one is kidney, it cleans the blood and removes the unwanted waste from the body through urine.

the urine passes from ureter and is let out of the kidneys.

after ureter the urine is stored in bladder.

once you feel pressure, the urine goes out of the body through urethra.

if there is an infection in any part described in this image

it is called as urinary tract infection.

and if there is a stone in the area, it is called as urine blockage.

Now let us discuss, what are the causes of urinary tract infection.

It is important to know that UTI is more common in women.

Because the size of urethra is much smaller in females, if compared to males.

small urethra can increase the chances of cross infection in the genitals.

Most prominent cause of Urinary infection is, not drinking enough water.

drinking less water increases the chance of UTI.

other reason of UTI is to hold urine for longer hours.

when you hold urine for longer period, the bacteria may increase in bladder

and weak immune system can add more risk of urine infection.

other than low immune system, high blood pressure, diabetes, body infection,

blood infection and kidney stone can also increase the chance of UTI.

In the beginning of the video, we told you that newly weds are more prone to UTI

The reason behind is intercourse.

After getting intimate, if the couple do not pass urine. The risk of UTI increases

and it can affect both male and female. This type of UTI is known as Honeymoon Cystitis.

This is just like a normal urinary tract infection

and it can be cured with a good diet and medication.

now we would discuss, about the symptoms of UTI

foul smelling urine,

change in the amount of urination, or frequent urination,

pain in abdomen and flank at the time of urination,

bone related problems, Diarrhea, High blood pressure

and vomiting are the symptoms of UTI.

If the infection increases, one may notice blood in urine.

and there could be pain in the sensitive area while passing urine.

there could be changes in the color of urine, changing from light yellow to dark mustard color.

if you are suffering from diabetes along with UTI, the consistency of urine can be thick
