Today I want to talk with you about

the belief that it is better to be happy than to be rich.

As if that has anything to do with each other!

I have also said, for a long time,

if we need to we can always live in a tent.

I prefer happines over riches.

Yes, sure! Who doesn't?

We would ALL prefer happiness over riches, right?

But you know what? In reality, they are unrelated.

And that is what this short video is about.

Life is not about money. It just isn't.

Money doesn't make you happy. It doesn't.

And money really doesn't help. It really doesn't

You know what, ask yourself the question

I started asking myself this question at a certain point

does it REALLY not even help a bit?

Because I had been working hard to get my finances sorted, so I could be happy once that was done...

And I didn't think there was a relationship

But I did think this: as long as my finances are a mess, I cannot be happy.

First I have to work hard. Get everything done. Organize the mess.

And then, I might come to a point where I could allow myself happiness

I have been living like that for a long long time.

And after a few years I started thinking: ok, I am saying that

but do I really believe this? Because why am I never arriving in that place?

THAT is when I started to ask the question: when am I actually happy?

And I would like you to ask yourself that question. Right now.

Get yourself a pen and a piece of paper.

And start writing a few things that genuinly make you happy

Things that open your heart. That make you feel who you are, make you flow

things that make you feel HAPPY! Take a moment and write it down. Right now!

Pause the video. Do it now!

I hope you really did this excercise.

Because now I will start to tell you what I discovered

There are only two things that truly make me happy.

Firstly: the people around me.

Secondly: experiences I have had.

And both these people and experiences cost NOTHING.

Maybe a few euro's. Not more. I mean, honestly

what makes me happy is Schiermonnikoog, walking on the beach

ok, so I might need to buy a trainticket.

I don't live next to the sea. So it does cost a little.

But very little.

True happiness has NOTHING to do with money

Once I started to investigate this deeper I realised: wait a minute

I find myself thinking that I need to solve my finances in order to be happe

but is that REALLY true?

That is when I started realising that the opposite IS true

When I am happy, a lot more clients enjoy working with me

and I am a lot more attractive for people who want to

do business with me.

When I am happy, and I am really not worrying at all about money

I am a way better person to be around. Lighter. Brighter.

and therefore I make more money when I am happy.

So yes, if you are happy, your chances of wealth increase significantly

But rich people are not at all happier

On the contrary. I know a TON of REALLY wealthy people

many of which are very happy, many of which are very unhappy.

But I also know a ton of poor people.

Many of which are very happy. And many of which are very unhappy.

It is just not related to each other.

But once you are happy, your chances of riches are a lot higher.

One of the most important factors that helped me to improve this

and helped me nourish myself with this kind of happiness that has riches as byproduct

inner or outer riches, that doesn't even really matter. That is a matter of choice.

I don't care if you become a millionaire. I also don't care if I become a millionaire myself.

I am interested in inspiring people and doing that what makes me truly happy.

I donate a lot of my money to charities. I invest back in my business.

so I can reach more people. I don't have to be very rich on a personal level.

That is not my goal. Nor is it the goal of most of my clients.

But once you start attracting money into your life, you get choice

choice what to do with it, who to give it to. And THAT is very nice!

The most improtant thing that helped me to discover and do what I needed to do

and helped me to see the value; not of 'being able to have a luxury holiday'

but that I could do what truly makes me happy - that doesn't even cost much -

WHILE releasing all of my money worries.

was surrounding myself with other people.

The most crucial thing I did for myself was surrounding myself with the right kind of people

People who don't negate these beliefs, but support them.

People who have strategies that DO work for them.
