We celebrated alumni, staff and completed our mission statement at last night's board meeting.

We began last night's meeting of the Board of Trustees by recognizing some of our new administrators.

New Blackshear Elementary principal, Meagan White...

...Klein Oak High School Principal, Thomas Hensley...

...we also introduced the new Klein Intermediate principal, Charles Woods.

I am excited about working with these leaders as we work together to implement our vision for Klein ISD.

The Board also recognized Jacki & Bill Dowling as the July alumni honorees.

The Dowlings both graduated from Klein Oak High School and as adults...

...gave back to the Klein community in many ways, Jacki as a teacher and coach, and Bill as a firefighter.

Many of you know Bill as Iron Bill, who survived nearly four years following a fire at the Southwest Inn that claimed the lives of four fellow Houston firefighters.

It was an honor to celebrate his memory and the legacy Bill and Jacki established, that will live on for years to come.

In other actions, the Board approved and set a date for the trustee election for Position 1, held by Georgan Reitmeier...

and Position 2, which was recently held by Steven Smith.

Tuesday, November 7, 2017, is the date of the election.
