As this school year draws to a close, I want us to celebrate the year of Promise2Purpose!

Last Thursday, we celebrated teams that were instrumental in bringing to life our shared vision of promise to purpose.

These collective groups of dedicated teachers, leaders, parents, and community members volunteered their time, talent, and efforts for a single purpose - our students.

Their work is both aspirational and inspirational so it was a joy to honor their work.

The night would not have been complete with the opportunity to celebrate our incredible students’ voice and talents connected to our shared promise to purpose vision.

We celebrated five student-created videos inspired by the shared vision and honored the students by presenting them with Promise2Purpose scholarships.

Early on in the year, our students responded in large numbers to a survey telling us that their voice matters.

We also celebrated our terrific Board of Trustees who supported us this year at every turn not only by being part of creating and approving the shared vision,

I would like to give a shout out to Klein Forest senior ZaDarius Webber on being named a 2017 State Board of Education Student Hero Award recipient.

This award celebrates and highlights students who voluntarily perform acts of kindness that benefit fellow students, their school, or community.

ZaDarius was the first student who welcomed me as I began Klein ISD journey and he is an amazing young man.
