Description:
Milk is healthy for us, for the reason, it is rich in nutrients important for our well being. Since childhood, our mother develops a habit of drinking at least one glass of milk per day to foster the health of bones and muscles. Milk is rich in vitamin A, B12, D, calcium, protein, phosphorus, potassium, zinc, selenium, magnesium, riboflavin, etc. These nutrients help the body stay healthy and promote the function of various organs. But when it comes to a kidney patient, it is restricted. The nutrients in the milk especially protein, fat, cholesterol, phosphorus, potassium, and many others cannot be processed by a person whose kidneys are not working properly. The kidneys are involved in the blood filtration process and help release toxins from our body. The toxins produced out of the consumption of food are also processed out by the kidneys from the blood. But when the kidneys become damaged, they may not allow the toxins to be separated from the blood and so these waste stay there causing too many complications. These nutrients further burden the kidneys and slow down their functioning. Hence, doctors restrict kidney patients to have milk in their diet. Even if they allow to do so, it is only in the form of tea that too only one time a day. Drinking milk further disturbs the digestion process of the patient and they may feel like venting out. So, it can be concluded that a kidney patient should not consume milk during this time! How to know if your kidney function is good or not? Often there lies a difficulty in diagnosing kidney disease because hardly any signs are visible in the starting stages of kidney disease. The subtle signs appear only when the damage has caused serious complications. These signs can be: ● Changes in the urination like too little urine ● Need to empty the bladder but unable to do so ● Blood in the urine ● Cloudy urine or foamy urine ● Vomiting and nausea ● Dizziness ● Persistent itching ● High blood pressure ● Weakness ● Muscle cramps ● Fluid retention ● Low memory power ● Swelling in the feet, legs, ankles, and around the face or eyes ● Difficulty walking If you think you are facing two or more of these complications without any reason, make sure to get yourself tested and take Ayurvedic treatment if needed!
