Our strategic plan in Klein ISD gives us the opportunity to reimagine learning for students, including in the area of Digital Learning.

Educators are coming to the design table with an eye for catalyzing innovation and leveraging technology to accelerate learning for students.

They use digital tools to empower students to design, build, make and create.

The use of these digital tools shifts learning from being teacher-driven to learner-centered.

It’s awesome to see our students creating videos and using Google Apps for Education and web tools to create blogs, podcasts, infographics, animations, presentations and so much more.

In Klein ISD, it's our mission to know every student by name, strength and need to build connections that lead to better learning.

To that end, our educators are personalizing learning for our students through things like digital choice boards and our new learning management system, Schoology.

They also use a wide variety of digital formative assessment tools that allows them to get to know their students better and tailor instruction to better meet student needs.

We strive for students to use a variety of platforms, tools, and digital media to master their learning goals.

Which means it’s important for our students to recognize the responsibilities of learning and working in a digital world.

In Klein ISD, we promote strong digital citizenship and model ways to support safe and responsible technology use.

This is an essential skill for our students to engage and thrive in a connected, digital world.

Although TECHNOLOGY is NOT the desired learning outcome, it’s a great tool that allows students to find their voice, search for answers, start conversations, and own their learning so their purpose is realized.
