As a journalism and communication student,

it was my honour to be an intern at this renowned broadcasting corporation.

In this internship, I was not only responsible for writing and translating news articles

In this internship, I was involved in tasks such as compiling The Daily Report,

I worked as a summer intern at Pacific BMW in Los Angeles over the past summer.

It was not only a platform to apply what I have learnt from college,

but it also allowed me to experience the cultural differences at workplace.

I have learnt how the company effectively engaged customers and employees through the “human-oriented” notion.

This internship is such a precious experience to me

and I mostly treasure the friendships with my colleagues in the US.

So, to be the intern of this program, you may need to aware of these points:

Number one, commitment. It is not easy to live in other country which is totally

different from Hong Kong. You may feel home sick and would like to leave when you have no friends

and family there. As an overseas intern, one hundred percent commitment to

your internship must be required.

And number two is attitude.

Not every task in your internship is challenging and interesting.

Sometimes, you may get bored with your work. But, please be serious to

every single task since you are not just an intern but also a representative of Hong Kong and HSMC.

Please be reminded this is not a leisure travel and you are not going there just for fun.

Number three, is to be proactive at work.

It may be an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for you to work aboard.

So please take every opportunity to widen your experience.

Do not hesitate to ask questions if there is something you are unsure about.

Make friends with your co-workers and other locals as much as possible,

and that is the best way for you to learn and experience their culture.
