Here is the recipe of hearty, aromatic and very tasty pea stew with fried onion, carrot, bacon and spices. ✅ Ingredients: • split peas – 14 oz / 400 g • smoked bacon – 7 oz / 200 g • onion – 3 oz / 100 g • carrot – 2,5 oz / 70 g • garlic – 2 cloves • dried thyme – ½ tsp • smoked paprika – 1 tsp • ground nutmeg – ¼ tsp • salt – to taste • ground black pepper – to taste • water – 5 cup / 1,2 l ✔︎ You will need: • cutting board • stockpot or saucepan 📙 Preparation: 1. Rinse the peas well, pour with water and leave for half an hour. 2. Cut the bacon into small pieces, chop the onion, grate the carrot. 3. In a saucepan fry the bacon until golden for about 2 minutes over medium heat stirring occasionally. 4. Add the onion, stir and fry for another minute over medium heat. 5. Add the carrot, stir, add the minced garlic, ground black pepper to taste, dried thyme, paprika and ground nutmeg, stir. 6. Drain the soaked peas and add into the saucepan. Pour with 5 cup / 1,2 l of water, stir, bring to a boil, cover with a lid and cook for an hour over low heat stirring occasionally. 7. Salt to taste and take off the stove. 8.
