We had the honor to thank our first responders last night for what they did for our community during Hurricane Harvey...

...and also for their work every day to keep our community safe.

We presented service pins to Board President, Bill Pilkington...

...and to our Board Vice President, Rick Mann last night.

Students from Mahaffey Elementary and Doerre Intermediate were recognized as were teachers from each of these schools.

We thank them for being shining examples of our profile of a learner and leader.

We introduced new administrators and look forward to seeing how each of them makes a difference by being student focused, relationship driven, forever learners, and Promise2Purpose Investors.

We honored D’Hania Hunt, nominated by Georgan Reitmeier, as the September Alumni of the Month.

D'Hania is an amazing example of a Klein ISD student who exited with a purpose.

After 23 years of military service, she gives back to her community by instilling her core values to others through dance.

Carole Little, the Northwest Assistance Ministries President and CEO, received the TASB Stand Up for Texas Public Schools honor.

Our partnership with NAM benefits the entire community and we are especially grateful for the opportunities they provide to our students and the work they did and continue to do to help those affected by Hurricane Harvey.

The American Heart Association recognized Tammy Cummings and Darby Young for their leadership in implementing the Heart Walk and the Jump Rope for Heart programs.

We appreciate their diligence in providing opportunities for our students and employees to lead healthy lifestyles.

Other items of interest included a Hurricane Harvey update, project initiation for the Lemm Elementary restoration, and approval of the schematic design for the Fox site elementary school project.
