The Saudi king praises the country’s judiciary amid a controversy over Riyadh’s direct role in killing Saudi dissident journalist Jamal Khashoggi. 
King Salman was speaking at the annual Shura council in Riyadh. He did not directly address the murder of Khashoggi in his speech. This is the first public speech since Khashoggi was murdered in the Saudi consulate in the Turkish city of Istanbul on October two. This comes as the U-S Central Intelligence Agency has concluded the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman was directly behind Khashoggi’s murder. The white house has so far refrained from blaming Bin Salman for the killing despite the C-I-A report. And US President Donald trump has praised Riyadh as a spectacular ally.
