The Board continues their work while we're on Summer break. Next!

Last night the Board of Trustees began the meeting by honoring all the fathers in attendance.

Next up were two two outstanding student groups.

The Klein High School 2017 UIL State Academic Champs...

...and the Klein ISD robotics team VorTX.

Both of these teams put in many long hours preparing for their competitions and we congratulate them for their perseverance and many victories.

The Board also recognized Cathy Felinski Diggins as the June alumni honoree...

...and Scott Boyd received the Texas Association of School Boards Stand Up for Texas Public Schools award.

Congratulations to these fine community members!

We welcomed the new Benfer principal Shannon Strole...

...Bob Anderson, the new principal of VISTAS High School...

...Eiland principal Sheldon Barr...

...and the new Associate Superintendent of Human Resources, Terrell King.

I look forward to working with these strong leaders implement our vision of every student entering with a promise and exiting with a purpose.

We heard an terrific report from the Teaching and Learning team regarding Promise2Purpose pathways in collaboration with Klein ISD and Lone Star partners.

These pathways include Advance Nursing, Global Business, Electrical Technology, Machining/Manufacturing, and Automotive Technology.

These pathways broaden our student’s choices of study as they move through our system and exit with a purpose that is personally meaningful.

The Board honored one of their own as they said goodbye to Board member Steve Smith who is moving out of the area.

Steve’s commitment to the students of Klein ISD is to be commended and I want to personally thank him for his integrity and dedication to Klein ISD.

Steve, you will be missed and the district's students and staff are better off because of your service.
