Last night's Board meeting was filled with promise and purpose!

We celebrated the valedictorians, salutatorians, and a sensational teacher from each of our high schools last night.

These distinguished students are prepared to exit our system and we applaud their many achievements.

I want to also give a shout out to their parents and teachers for encouraging them to explore their own pathways...

...equipping them for success, instilling positive values and leadership skills, and encouraging them to be forever learners.

Our outstanding alumnus for April was Gina Patino, a graduate from the Klein Oak inaugural class of 1985.

Gina found her passion during high school in the cosmetology program and has been a successful salon owner in the area for many years.

We also honored the Lone Star College - University Park with a Stand Up for Texas Public Schools Award for their many partnerships with Klein.

The Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital debuted their Stroke Awareness video done in cooperation with Klein ISD students.

It is awesome to see our students in partnership with the hospital to identify the signs of a stroke in a way that all students can understand.

Finally, the guiding documents design teams were recognized for their amazing work and the Board approved the three documents.

Profile of a Learner, Profile of a Leader, and High-Quality Teaching are the three documents that will be guiding our future work together.

I want to thank these teams and the many people from inside and outside the district who provided input on these critical documents.

They provide the support for the shared vision of every student in Klein entering with a promise and exiting with a purpose.
