Pastil/Pater
This delicious dish is a Filipino-Muslim food and originated in Maguindanao. Originally it is wrap in banana leaves, it consists with rice, grilled chicken or fish. This is an on the go meal and it is usually sold in the side walk vendor. This very affordable meal is loved by the students and workers. They sell the regular flavor of the pastil/pater at P10.00.
Pastil/Pater today has many version and all of them are delicious. For our recipe today we will make this dish extra special by adding coconut milk and we will make turmeric rice.
 
Chicken ingredients:
1 kg chicken
1 tbsp ginger, grated
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 med. sized onion, minced
1 tbsp sili
1 med. sized sweet pepper, sliced
3 tbsp soy sauce
500ml gata
1/2 cup cooking oil
pepper to taste
salt to taste

Turmeric rice:

6 cups rice
2 1/2 tbsp cooking oil
1 1/2 tbsp turmeric powder
6 cups water(more if preferred)
