Your doctor can calculate eGFR by combinining Creatinine level, Age, Body size and gender.

This number helps your doctor in knowing your kidney health accurately.

It helps your doctor in treating your kidney condition better.

Let's take a look at the GFR number showing that your kidneys have failed.

If your GFR is 90 or more then your kidneys function is normal; it means your kidneys are healthy.

In stage 1 CKD, the GFR rate drops to less than 90.

If your eGFR is between 90-60 then you have stage 2 CKD.

At this stage, your kidneys are 30-40 percent damaged, it can also be cured.

eGFR between 60-45 indicates Stage 3a and 45-30 is stage 3b of CKD.

At this stage, your kidney functions reduce to 40-70 percent that means your disease has taken its fatal form.

In Stage 4 CKD, the eGFR lies between 30-15 which means kidneys have 70-85 percent damaged.

If eGFR lies between 15-0 then the patient is at Stage 5 of CKD that is also called kidney failure in general terms.

For the treatment of stage 5 CKD, only kidney dialysis and transplant are the only final options left.

In general, the eGFR varies from patient to patient as per their body type but let's take a look at the ideal eGFR at different ages.

Between the age of 20-29 years, eGFR should be 116.

Between the ages of 30-39 years, eGFR should be 107.

Between 40-49, this rate should be 99.

Between 50-59, this rate is 93.

Between 60-69, this rate should be 85. And in the age of 70+, the healthy eGFR rate 75.

At that time, I was facing many internal health complications such as urine related problems, weakness and problem in sleeping; creatinine was also increased.
